Reproduction fuel tank.
This original AMC Pacer fuel tank is heavily corroded and no replacement is available. The tank was scanned to capture its overall envelope, mounting locations, clearances, and connection points. Clean CAD can then be developed for tooling and pressed sheet-metal reproduction.

Replacement interior components.
Interior trim is often among the first material to crack, warp, or disappear from the replacement-parts market. Scanning the surrounding structure makes it possible to design around the original vehicle.
Large-format 3D printing can reproduce trim and panel geometry, followed by finishing, upholstery, or other processes appropriate to the appearance and use of the part. This capability is being explored with specialist manufacturers.
